Tyerell's new hobby!!

Great Grandpa and Grandma Jones gave Tyerell a book for his birthday called "Tying Flies" that he fell in love with! He has been tying flies ever since...he amazes me! He can see a fly, and go to tying and next thing I know, he has the exact fly ready to fish with! He is still working on his skills, but in my eyes he does perfect! ;) We are headed to Joe's Valley next weekend, and he's going to try a bunch of his flies out with Danny's cousin. I am super excited for him to put them to use!
Goin' to work!
his favorite color to use is RED!
Some of the ones he has completed!

WEEKEND PROJECT

I've decided that every weekend this summer I want to get something, besides the normal, accomplished! One weekend we went to yard sales in search of the dresser, the next one we repainted the dresser, this weekend Jalair and I decided to repaint a bench that was given to me probably 10+ years ago from Grandma Jones. It was painted cute, but after years in the sun the pain faded and it just looked like it needed a makeover!!! I had an idea set in my mind and shared it with my kids and they agreed....

Just thought I would share some laundry tips I have learned from others and found VERY helpful!

-For those grease spots that seem to come from nowhere, or from a chap stick that was left in a pocket, add 1 tablespoon of Dawn dish soap...after all, that's what Dawn is known for, fighting grease! I actually add some to every load I do, just so I avoid the spotting altogether! (I learned this from a girl I used to work at a pizza shop with. I was having issues with grease from there and she told me this secret)

-Ever washed your tennis shoes? I learned this tip from Danny. Whenever your tennis shoes get looking dingy and dirty, take the insoles out and toss them in the wash! People will think you have new shoes every time you wash them. I have even sprayed Shout on super dirty spots just to make sure they come out, and it works! I just throw them in with my regular load of laundry, laces and all, and set them out to air dry. (This would work for canvas shoes, not leather of course!)

-Ever washed your flip-flops? I wash flip flops about once a week. I have Chaco sandals and wash them at least once a month too. This keeps your sandals always looking new! (I read this tip somewhere, just don't remember where)

-Last, but not least, I just learned about 1 year ago that you MUST add water to your liquid fabric softener when you add it into your washer! I was always washing my fabric softener cup because it got clogged up with hardened fabric softener. (It says this right on the bottle of fabric softener, but I didn't read the directions it seemed pretty self explanatory! Hahaha)

{{Random Thoughts}}

Random "thankful" thoughts!
Tonight I was just thinking about how thankful I am for things, and I know I don't express it much. So I though I would name a few here....
I am SO THANKFUL I have the kids I do! So thankful they're growing up to be the young adults they are. So thankful that they don't always do their chores! So thankful that they look forward to my day off. So thankful they look forward to a good home cooked meal. So thankful they have the manners that they do.
I am so thankful for my current job and boss. Jim is an amazing person all around. He wants the best for everyone that walks into his pharmacy. He would NEVER let me go without my Diabetes medication just because I couldn't afford it. He is never afraid to admit when he's wrong and always makes sure I'm thanked for the work I personally do around the pharmacy. He reaches out to the public (mainly the diabetes since we're a diabetes center) and will educate any diabetic he knows...whether they have a way to pay or not. He is a very smart person, business-wise and just common sense-wise.
I am SO THANKFUL for Danny. He is another AMAZING person who has brightened my life. He always wants the best for me and my kids, and I really do appreciate that. He connects with my kids, and that means a lot to me! He's not judgemental and I love that about him.
I am thankful for the sunshine! I love to go for a quick walk around the block for my lunchbreak and enjoy the sunshine.
I am thankful for the true friendships that I have with others. I have had many friends walk in and out of my life, but the true ones have walked in and never left. I cherish each one of my friends and enjoy the time I get to spend with them.
Ok, I am done with my thankful thoughts!! :)

YARD SALE Find!

I decided Jalair needs her own dresser, instead of sharing one with Tye. Danny, Meg, and I went to yard sales last weekend, and I found a four drawer dresser for $10!! We decided to buy spray paint, she wanted it to be purple, and paint it ourselves! It turned out DARLING!!!!!

Young Living Farms

The kids suggested we visit Young Living Lavendar Farms in Mona, so this weekend we did!! It was GORGEOUS, and was so much fun to visit! The lavendar wasn't completely bloomed yet, so we will be visiting again soon. The animals all had shed they were getting rid of, the flowers were gorgeous and the mice were friendly! EEEEKKKKK, they have a TON of mice, I wasn't a fan of that! It was a great visit though, and we got some ice cream at The Red Barn in Santaquin afterwards....MMMMMMMMM!

No MoRe FaCeBoOk!

I have decided, after a long thoughtful process, that I am DONE with Facebook! I think people used to use it for a good reason, to keep in touch with family, friends, and others, but I really feel like it is now used to spy on others, stalk people, be nosey and I don't like it for that reason! I will keep in touch with the people I want to, I will update my blog as often as I have something to write about and anyone that has my phone number knows how to get ahold of me!
